I finished the first draft of “Sage’s Bluff” last Sunday afternoon. Right now, I’m playing catch up on my typing. Currently, I’m at 23,102 words in my typed manuscript. I have so much work ahead of me, but don’t worry, I have contracted with my editor for February 2026. There still isn’t an official release date yet, but not to worry. You’ll be able to read the next Liz Pond adventure in 2026!
2025 Lubbock Book Festival
When I applied for a table at the 2025 Lubbock Book Festival earlier this year, I was told they didn’t have any more space.
But to my surprise, I was contacted last month and invited to join them for this year’s event. I met several of you on this mailing list at that event last year. I’m looking forward to seeing you again! No matter what. If you’re new to my series or have already read my books. Swing by and say hi!
2025 Texas Book Festival
As you already know, I’ve been accepted as an author vendor at the 2025 Texas Book Festival in Austin, Texas. We’re busy getting ready. Mostly by ordering in tons of copies of “Mad Money & Murder” and “Death is in the Cards”. So many copies. It’s an expensive undertaking, but one that we truly hope will pay off. This festival is offering me a different opportunity as well. The chance to meet my audiobook narrator, Carol Beth Anderson, and a couple of members of my online writing support group at the same time. It’s going to be so much fun to meet women I already think of as old friends for the very first time.
Hardcovers
Originally, I wasn’t planning on making my titles available in hardcover. But after a conversation with a local librarian, we changed our minds. Apparently, libraries prefer to buy books in hardcover because they are more durable. So, my husband got to work on a new layout and after a couple very minor tweaks, they are out and ready. Next, I must create a letter to send to libraries all over the country. I can’t wait to see my books start to show up in public libraries.
Abilene Writer’s Guild
One more thing. I met the president of a local writing group, the Abilene Writer’s Guild, at an event in May. With encouragement from my husband and daughter, I joined the group. At my very first meeting, someone called out to me from another table, “Jenni! I’ve already read both of your books. They’re great!” I figure that is a good sign that I’m in the right place.
